These last weeks have been eye-opening. We recognize that we haven’t done everything right. In fact, in a lot of ways we’ve done it all wrong. But we’re hearing from you, our community, and we’re doing our best to really listen. The recent killings of George Floyd, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor has brought pervasive racism into the forefront of our minds. It’s not that racism is new - it is the fact that it is unending that is so painful. And we want to be a part of the community that not only helps heal this pain but also supports diversity in our community.
We're currently in the listening phase of change. We're hearing from our Black and BIPOC community members to be educated on how we can do better. From there, we will start diversity and inclusivity training for our staff so that we can continue making Kindness Yoga a kind place for all. It's a process and we're at the start of it, but the entire staff at Kindness Yoga believes that this is important work and we all want to be a part of it.
